Google has joined the “vibe-coding” revolution that’s swept the industry, where companies like Lovable and Cursor have become sought-after targets for eager buyers and investors. The tech giant is currently piloting a new vibe-coding platform called Opal through Google Labs, making it available to U.S. users. With Opal, anyone can generate mini web applications simply by typing in a description—the system taps into various Google models to bring your idea to life.

After creation, Opal presents a visual workflow that outlines each step—input, output, and generation—in an editor panel. You can inspect and tweak the underlying prompt for any step or drag in additional processes from Opal’s toolbar. Once you’re satisfied, you can publish your app online and share the link with collaborators using their Google accounts.

Bring your prompts to life, no code required

  • Create workflows
  • Make edits
  • Share your app

Though Google’s AI studio already empowers developers to build apps with prompts, Opal’s intuitive visual interface signals an ambition to broaden accessibility beyond technical users. It joins a growing ecosystem of tools—such as Canva, Figma, and Replit—that aim to help non-developers prototype applications without writing a single line of code.
